Betty is ready to start a 10K charity run - Fayetteville, TX
We had been looking for property in the country for over five years. Some of our friends had moved to Round Top and liked it. After several trips to visit them we fell in love with the town and its setting. In 1991 we purchased eleven acres, three and a half miles outside of town.
The property came with a mobile home and for the first year we simply enjoyed going to the country. In 1993 we purchased a 1860s Texas farmhouse and had it moved onto our property. Then for another year we were overwhelmed and did not know where to begin with remodeling. In 1994 we finally got up the nerve to start working on the old house. We would work all week in Houston but on Friday afternoon we would pack up and go to the old house and work on it until Sunday evening, then it was back to Houston. Well we live here full time now and we love it. We hope you enjoy looking at all the pictures of our place as much as we do sharing them with you.
In 1995 the house was far enough along to live in so we sold the mobile home and we moved into the house. We love having family and friends come up for the day or the weekend. Fishing, hiking, camping, or just sitting on the porch is welcomed. We want to share our love for the property and the old house with the people that mean the most to us . . . . our family and friends.
